Pilates - what is it and why should I do it?

We regularly get people contacting the Studio saying they’ve been advised to do Pilates to strengthen their core. For a long time Pilates has been seen as the way to “fix your back”. And to a certain extent that is true. However Pilates is so much more than that.

At Infinity we teach Pilates as a way to connect you with your body, and to feel freedom through movement. In our Studio classes we teach the client, not the exercises. What does that mean? If you have injuries we will help you with that. If you’re training for a sport we will assist you with that. Everything we give you is picked for your body. You won’t ever be in a class given a random set of exercises that everyone else in the class is doing. We have a plan for you and will progress you through that plan.

Our classes are small - 6 people only - so we can individualise your sessions. Then of course we have private or duo sessions where you receive even more personal attention.
